Hi Lindsay Cat, you always make me feel better, especially when I think my music has a chance in a certain composition competition.
I was hoping to win this one, especially since I paid some money to enter this competition. Remind me again to never pay a fee for a competition again.

Sometimes I think that the entry fee actually *increases* the chances that the form letter is going to be impersonal and crappy. This one is a perfect case-in-point.
Yeah, what can you do. On a side note, I did have someone ask me how to phrase a rejection letter (since I have this collection going here).
Charging composers to consider their work is lame. Charging orchestra musicians an audition fee to be considered for your professional ensembles is lame. Charging opera singers audition fees to try out for you is lame (repeat as necessary).
How's about this: you pay your own administrators and I invest in my creative work and we see if there's a common ground on which to do business.
Times like this my opera company co-founder and I believe there is too much administrative overhead, in our humble opinions.
